Helen Minnery

Hi my name is Helen. I left South Yorkshire to come to Liverpool to train as a Dental Hygienist. I qualified from Liverpool Dental Hospital in September 1992 and have worked at Rose Lane Dental Practice since March 1995.

I am married with one daughter. My Hobbies include Running, Mountain biking and going to the cinema.

I am also the Secretary for the North West Regional Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.

I have great job satisfaction because I provide patients with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to keep their teeth for the rest of their lives.  It is also great to treat patients over a period of time, and see the improvement in their Oral Hygiene.

Janet Harrison

Hi, my names Jan.  I qualified at the Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1990.

I’m married with two children.

I enjoy swimming and sometimes frequent the gym. I also spend a lot of time walking my Bichon-Friesse, Molly.

I enjoy my job because it can be very rewarding when you see a patient’s oral hygiene improving over the months. It is nice to see patients responding to the treatment and advice they’ve been given.

I also enjoy being part of an enthusiastic team of professionals.

Emma
Emma Watkinson

Hi, my name is Emma.  I studied Dental Hygiene at the Liverpool University Dental Hospital and qualified in 2004.

I started working as a hygienist at Rose Lane Dental Practice in the same year (I was a dental nurse here for 4 years, prior to going to university).

I enjoy being part of the dental health care profession, especially in such a relaxed and friendly practice.

I think hygienists play a very important role in dental health and I find my job very rewarding, particularly as we get to monitor patients regularly. This gives us the opportunity to follow, improve and maintain patients gum health.

It is also rewarding as a clean, fresh, healthy mouth can improve a patients appearance and confidence.

In my spare time I enjoy socializing, going to the gym, swimming and taking my dog, a Brussels Griffon, on long walks.
