Katherine Blundell
BDS (Hons) MFDS RCS Ed PGCert
GDC No: 85600

Kate graduated from Liverpool University in 2005 with Honours and a Distinction in Oral Health. She gained membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2007 whilst undertaking the role of a Senior House Officer at Liverpool Dental Hospital. This job involved treating patients from all different walks of life, young and old; many of whom were extremely anxious of treatment.

She worked as a Clinical Teacher in Restorative Dentistry at Liverpool University full time for two years and whilst undertaking this role, she discovered her love for endodontics (root canal treatment) and decided to go on to do a period of further study, namely an MSc in Endodontics at Manchester University part time after which she hopes to do some more exams in order to gain entry onto the Specialist list for Endodontics.

Whilst working for Liverpool University Kate treated a large number of difficult cases referred from General Dental Practitioners around Merseyside and beyond.

Kate does a lot of work in the Emergency Dental Service as well as some private practice as well as still working at the University part time. She takes great pleasure in helping to relieve the pain or discomfort that patients suffer as a result of toothache and abscesses.

She is happy to see patients on referral for endodontic treatment and re-treatment. She usually prefers to meet patients for a consultation beforehand so they are able to discuss the procedure and ask any questions without feeling threatened by impending treatment. Kate tries to dispel the myths about endodontic treatment as she knows that it has a bad press, the majority of the patients she sees are often pleasantly surprised.

Kate also loves writing music, singing and playing the guitar, she enjoys photography and is mad about her two Persian cats; Dylan and Coco!
